Bonding with Baby: The Parent-Infant Relationship and How To Strengthen It

Rachel Sassoon, PsyD is a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in Washington, DC. She also holds a Master’s in the field of risk and resilience and has studied infant and young child development. Dr. Sassoon has worked as a school counselor and as a teacher in early childhood centers. Dr. Sassoon recently became a new mom to an infant daughter.

This Workshop Will Cover the Following:

> Understand the importance of creating a strong partnership with your baby. 

> Learn what babies need to feel secure and how to help them
learn from their own experiences. 

> Learn how to develop “emotional muscles” - both yours and your baby’s.

Dr. Emily Cook is a licensed marriage and family therapist who specializes in helping people repair and enrich their relationships. Her counseling with women focuses on building relationship skills, deepening insight into family patterns, and gaining confidence to live a life full of joy and resilience. Dr. Cook graduated from the University of Maryland, has worked in private practice since 2010, and is the mother of two boys (5 and 2). 

This Workshop Will Cover the Following:

> Explore your boundaries with others and learn how to set healthy limits

> Identify the patterns you carry from your family and learn how to change the story

> Recognize your emotional triggers and learn how to respond instead of react

> Practice communication skills and learn how to speak up for your needs

Caroline Benner is a Head Start teacher with Fairfax County Public Schools. She has six years of experience as an educator of young children. She also has extensive volunteer experience working with young children living in poverty, as well as in medical settings. Caroline has been nominated for Outstanding Teacher honors by the families that she serves for her exceptional commitment to her work.
